Take Your Kid to Work Day at Meta, 2019
Land and Sky, an interactive installation was conceived and produced by Ruth Bosco for Meta’s Take Your Kid to Work Day in 2019. The installation took over the entire Open Arts Lab Space (formerly Analog Research Lab). Artist Angie Wilson designed a black light room with vibrant activities, including making your own stars and planets and bringing textiles to life with glowing, florescent ink. Illustrator Ryan Johnson created a three panel illustration for a transition space that led into a Yaoya Kusama inspired dot activity. The room Kusama room was completely covered in paper, and participants were invited to place round colored dot stickers of varying sizes anywhere they wanted to, slowly filling the space with colored dots. The final room held dot markers and a giant outlined illustration by designer Heather Hardison. Participants added color to the illustration throughout the day, resulting in a magical pointillist landscape. Upon exiting, families picked up poster packs, post cards, and a custom badge making activity for kids designed by Heather Hardison.
